It's June 2, so it's hard to believe that today marks the final cleanup from winter's damage this year. It was a difficult winter where heavy snows meant a week of snow clearing, and delayed some projects many weeks while making other ones possible.
But long after winter was over I was still adding fill and planting grass seed where snowplows gouged the lawn and raking gravel back into the parking lot. Today I dressed the barn ramp with fresh gravel where I had plowed some up. We dress the barn ramp with gravel every year—that's the only way we can keep it looking the same now as it did when it was rebuilt twelve years ago—but this year took a little more work than others.
Actually, there are still a couple other projects from last winter left unfinished. One will be completed this summer and another will await next winter's relative down time.
Did I mention the grass this spring has been growing like a fiend?
